TAD MOROSE -INTERVIEW WITH RONNY HEMLIN - ΣΥΝΕΝΤΕΥΞΗ ΜΕ ΤΟΝ RONNY HEMLIN

Οι Tad Morose σχηματίστηκαν  το 1991 στη Σουηδία και είναι ένα καλό παράδειγμα συγκροτήματος που έχει προσφέρει πολλά στην ευρωπαϊκή heavy/power metal σκηνή . Το τελευταίο τους άλμπουμ "Chapter X" κυκλοφόρησε στις 15 Ιουνίου 2018 και έτσι ήταν μια τέλεια ευκαιρία για εμάς, εδώ στο Metalzone να μιλήσουμε με τον τραγουδιστή τους Ronny Hemlin.

Christine: Αρχικά  θα ήθελα να σας καλωσορίσω στο Metalzone! 
Ronny: Eυχαριστώ πολύ, η τιμή μου είναι δική μου.

Christine: Ronny ας πάμε μερικά χρόνια πίσω! Γνωρίζεις τον Christer "Krunt" Andersson, τον κιθαρίστα αλλά και ιδρυτή των Tad Morose, πολλά χρόνια πριν συνεργαστείτε. Ποιες ήταν οι πρώτες σου σκέψεις και ποια τα συναισθήματα σου, όταν σου ζήτησε να συμμετέχεις στη μπάντα πριν από μερικά χρόνια;

Ronny: Φυσικά ένιωσα τιμή και ενθουσιασμό, καθώς γνώριζα και ήμουν πάντα οπαδός της μπάντας. Απο την στιγμή που γνώριζαν όλη τη δουλειά μου με τους Steel Attack θα έλεγα ότι η οντισιόν έγινε σε χρόνο ρεκόρ!!

Christine: Εκτός από τους Tad Morose συμμετέχεις σε κάτι άλλο αυτό τον καιρό;
Ronny: Όχι, εκτός από μερικές guest εμφανίσεις  εδώ και εκεί ,"DiZtord", "Hexed" κλπ. κλπ.

Christine: Όσον αφορά τη μουσική, μπορείς να μου πεις τις μπάντες που σε διαμόρφωσαν ως μουσικό; Τις επιρροές σου;
Ronny: Μπορώ να ονομάσω μερικές ... Μιας και είμαι πιο "παλιός και απο το χρόνο" υπάρχουν τόσα πολλά συγκροτήματα και καλλιτέχνες που με επηρέασαν όλα αυτά  τα χρόνια,  Black Sabbath (Tony Martin εποχή), King Diamond, Metal Church, Crimson Glory, Queensrÿche, Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Kansas, Pantera, Metallica, Morgana Lefay, Megadeth, Yngwie Malmsteen, Europe και αργότερα, Killswitch Engage, Diablo, Carnal Forge, The Quill, Lillasyster, Lamb of God, Keith Merrow, Halestorm, θα μπορούσα να συνεχίσω ως αύριο...

Christine: Ξέρω ότι είναι δύσκολο, αλλά αν σου ζητήσω να περιγράψεις τη σουηδική μεταλ σκηνή με τρεις λέξεις ποιες θα ήταν αυτές;
Ronny: Αχανής, εθιστική και εμπνευσμένη!

Christine: Το "Chapter X", το νέο σας άλμπουμ, κυκλοφόρησε πριν  λίγες ημέρες. Πώς θα το περιέγραφες σε έναν πιθανό ακροατή;
Ronny: Χμμ, πιστεύω (ελπίζω) ότι έχει κάτι σχεδόν για όλους τους ακροατές της  metal μουσικής - βαρύ, γρήγορο, αργό, επιθετικό, μελωδικό, με progressive στοιχεία.

Christine: Μπορώ να καταλάβω ότι ο τίτλος του νέου σας άλμπουμ αντιπροσωπεύει τη δέκατη κυκλοφορία σας. Όσον αφορά στα τραγούδια του άλμπουμ, από πού αντλήσατε έμπνευση;
Ronny: Πραγματικά εξαρτάται απο τον ακροατή να σχηματίσει τη δική του γνώμη "συχνά το κάνει ούτως ή άλλως", αλλά εμπνέομαι από καθημερινά γεγονότα και γενικότερα απο τη ζωή.Αλλωστε δεν είναι μυστικό ότι κατηγορώ τη θρησκεία για τα περισσότερα άσχημα πράγματα που συμβαίνουν στον κόσμο όχι μόνο σήμερα αλλά καθ' όλη τη διάρκεια της ανθρώπινης ιστορίας.

Christine: Το artwork του νέου σας άλμπουμ έγινε από τον Rainer Kalwitz (επίσης γνωστό απο τους Shadow Gallery, Vigilante, Praying Mantis, Destiny's End, Radakka και πολλούς άλλους), εκτός από τον τίτλο λοιπόν υπάρχει κάποιο άλλο μήνυμα στο cover του δίσκου;

Ronny: To ίδιο υσχύει κι εδώ, εξαρτάται και πάλι απο το μάτι του θεατή. Ο Rainer πήρε τους στίχους του άλμπουμ για έμπνευση λίγες εβδομάδες πριν από την προθεσμία. Αυτό βέβαια ίσως ήταν για καλό γιατί νομίζω ότι έκανε φοβερή δουλειά σε χρόνο μηδέν!

Christine: Υπάρχει κάποιο απο τα τραγούδια του δίσκου που νιώθεις ιδιαίτερα  συνδεδεμένος;
Ronny:  Είναι κάτι που αλλάζει μέρα με τη μέρα, την μια μέρα είναι αυτό την επόμενη  ίσως να είναι κάποιο άλλο άρα υποθέτω ότι εξαρτάται απο τη διάθεση μου. 

Christine: Ποιος είναι ο "ιθύνων νους" των τραγουδιών των Tad Morose ή θα το περιέγραφες σαν μια ομαδική προσπάθεια;

Ronny Hemlin: Φυσικά εγώ...(αστειεύομαι). Ολοι μαζί καταλήγουμε σε ιδέες για ολόκληρα τραγούδια ή μέρος αυτών που αργότερα "κολλάμε" στην πρόβα, ή όπως συνήθως λέει ο Krunt τα βάζουμε όλα μέσα στη "μηχανή του κιμά" 

Christine:Ποια τα μελλοντικά σας σχέδια; Κάποια περιοδεία στο άμεσο μέλλον; 
Ronny: Πάντα σχεδιάζουμε να κάνουμε κάποια περιοδεία και ελπίζουμε να συμβεί. Δεν έχει κλείσει όμως κάτι ακόμα. Υπάρχουν όμως κάποια φεστιβάλ και κάποιες εμφανίσεις σε club. To Into Battle Festival στην Ελλάδα είναι ένα απο αυτά! \ m /

Christine: Τον Δεκέμβριο λοιπόν οι Tad Morose θα είναι στην Ελλάδα για πρώτη φορά και θα συμμετέχουν στο "Into Battle Festival", της Eat Metal Records με όνοματα όπως τους Pagan Altar , Satan, Ironsword, Neptune, Hallas και πολλά άλλα! Πώς νιώθεις γι 'αυτό και υπάρχει κάτι που θα ήθελες να πεις στους Έλληνες οπαδούς σας;
Ronny: Νιώθω ενθουσιασμένος!!!Στους Έλληνες οπαδούς μας θα ήθελα να πω "GET YOUR ASS TO THE FESTIVAL and we promise you a good show."

Christine: Πως ήταν το feedback απο το κοινό αλλά και τον τύπο για την τελευταία σας κυκλοφορία; Να περιμένουμε κάποιο από τα νέα τραγούδια στο setlist της Αθήνας;

Ronny Hemlin: To feedback ήταν τρομερό τόσο απο τους οπαδούς αλλά και τον Τύπο! Πολύ πάνω από τις προσδοκίες μας!! Ναι, θα υπάρχουν τραγούδια από το Chapter X στο setlist, να είστε σίγουροι! 

Christine: Ανυπομονούμε πραγματικά να σας δούμε στη σκηνή! Σας εύχομαι ό, τι καλύτερο και ελπίζω να "συλλέξετε" όσες περισσότερες "ψυχές" μπορείτε! Είναι μια έκφραση που γνωρίζω ότι σας αρέσει να χρησιμοποιείτε. Σας ευχαριστώ για το χρόνο σας!
Ronny Hemlin:Ευχαριστούμε πολύ  Christine, ανυπομονούμε πραγματικά να βρεθούμε  στη σκηνή και ελπίζουμε να κερδίσουμε μερικές νέες και φρέσκες ψυχές στη συλλογή μας!!!

Tad Morose was formed in 1991 in Sweden and is a fine example of a band that has offered a lot to the European heavy/power metal scene since then.  Their latest album "Chapter X"  was released on 15th June 2018 so this was a perfect chance for us, here in Metalzone to talk with Ronny Hemlin the band's vocalist. 

Christine: First of all I would like to welcome you to Metalzone 

Ronny: Thank you very much, the honor is mine.

Christine: So Ronny lets go back for a while! You've known Christer "Krunt" Andersson, the guitarist and founder of Tad Morose, for ages. What were your first thoughts and feelings when he asked you to join the band some years ago?

Ronny: I was honored and thrilled of course as I’ve known of and always been a fan of the band, and since they knew all my work with steel attack I’d say the audition was record fast!

Christine: Except for Tad Morose are you involved in any other projects at the moment? 

Ronny: No, except for some guest appearances here and there ”DiZtord” ”Hexed” etc. etc.

Christine: As far as music is concerned can you tell me the bands that have formed you as a musician? Your influences?

Ronny: I can name a few! As I’m older than time itself there are so so many bands and artists that have influenced me through the years, here goes: Black Sabbath ”Tony Martin era” King Diamond, Metal Church, Crimson Glory, Queensrÿche, Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Kansas, Pantera, Metallica, Morgana Lefay, Megadeth, Yngwie Malmsteen, Europe, and in later days, Killswitch Engage, Diablo, Carnal Forge, The Quill, Lillasyster, Lamb Of God, Keith Merrow, Halestorm, oooh I could go on forever …

Christine: I know it's hard but if I ask you to describe the Swedish metal scene in three words which ones would you choose?  

Ronny: Massive, contagious and inspiring.

Christine: "Chapter X", your new album hit the stores a few days ago. How would you describe it to a potential listener?

Ronny: Hmm, I believe (I hope) it has something for almost everyone listening to metal - Heavy, Fast, slow, Aggressive, Melodic, with a progressive touch here and there.

Christine: I can understand that the title of your new album stands for your tenth release (correct me if I'm wrong). As far as the songs of the album are concerned, where did you draw inspiration from? 

Ronny: It’s really up to the listener to form their own opinion ”often they do so anyway” but I get inspired by every day ”worldly” events and life itself, ...and I guess it’s no secret I blame religion for most of all bad things happening in the world today and through human history.

Christine: The artwork of your new album was made by Rainer Kalwitz  (also known for Shadow Gallery, Vigilante, Praying Mantis, Destiny's End, Radakka and many more) so apart from the title,  is there an inner meaning in the artwork as well? 

Ronny: Same here... it’s in the eye of the beholder… as we are always out in the absolute last second ”no matter what” Rainer got the lyrics for the album for inspiration a couple of weeks before the deadline … perhaps that was a good thing though, as I think he did an awesome job in about no time at all.

Christine: Do you feel particularly related or connected to any of the songs in "Chapter X"? 

Ronny: It is a day to day thing, one day the favorite is one song and the next day it is another one, depends on which mood I’m in I guess.

Christine: Is there a mastermind in the writing process of Tad Morose songs or do you describe it as a team effort? 

Ronny Hemlin: I am the mastermind of course… nah just kidding! We all come up with ideas for whole songs and / or part of songs that we later glue together at rehearsal - or as Krunt use to say ”through the meat grinder" 

Christine: What about your future plans? Any tours in the near future? 

Ronny: We always plan to tour and hope for it to happen.No tour is booked at this very moment though… a couple of festivals and club shows here and there - into battle in Greece is one of them \m/

Christine: So on December, Tad Morose is going to be in Greece for the first time in the festival  "Into Battle Festival" hosted by Eat Metal Records with Pagan Altar, Satan, Ironsword, Neptune, Hallas and many more! How do you feel about that and is there anything that you would like to say to your Greek fans? 

Ronny: I feel EXCITED as H*LL and if we have any Greek fans I would like to say … GET YOUR ASS TO THE FESTIVAL and we promise you a good show.

Christine: As far as feedback is concerned, how has the audience and the press responded to "Chapter X"? Should we expect any of the new songs in the setlist for Athens? 

Ronny : The response has been awesome from both fans and the press, really above our expectations  … oh yes, there will be songs from Chapter X in the setlist, rest assured.

Christine: We are truly looking forward to seeing you on stage! I wish you all the best and hope to "collect" as many "souls" as you can! (It's an expression that you like to use, right?) Thank you for your time! 

Ronny Hemlin: Thank you very much, Christine, We are truly looking forward to being on stage and hope to gain some new and fresh souls to our collection!
