Machine Head's Robb Flynn and Jared MacEachern spent the last week Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California with producer Zack Ohren working on their as-yet-untitled 10th album, due for release in summer 2022.
A message states: "Making great progress on at least 6 different new songs including a 10 minute plus epic."
Canadian thrash legends Exciter performed at Mass Destruction IV Festival on November 7th, in Atlanta, GA at The Loft at Center Stage.
Exciter features drummer / vocalist Dan Beehler, guitarist Daniel Dekay and bassist Allan James Johnson.
San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal veterans DEATH ANGEL will release a new live album titled "The Bastard Tracks" on Black Friday, November 26 via Nuclear Blast.
Recorded live at The Great American Music Hall in their hometown of San Francisco on May 22, 2021, and streamed live soon after, "The Bastard Tracks" is a deep-cuts collection of rarely and never performed songs from the band's celebrated catalog that will be released digitally and on CD, vinyl and Blu-ray.
Last year, Vio-Lence released a digital single, "California Uber Alles" (a cover version of the Dead Kennedys classic), via Metal Blade Records.
After giving fans a taste of what's to come, the band announced their upcoming EP: Let The World Burn - their first original release since 1993's Nothing To Gain - is due to be unleashed in early 2022 via Metal Blade Records.
Vocalist Kyle Thomas of New Orleans-based thrash metal pioneers EXHORDER has confirmed to Heavy New York that the band is preparing to enter the studio to record the follow-up to 2019's "Mourn The Southern Skies" album.
"We have been working very hard on new material since the [start of] the pandemic," he said. "We've been demoing songs, doing pre-production, preparing for when we finally do record the actual album. So, yes, new EXHORDER will be coming at some point."

IRON FATE have now found the time to record its successor a full eleven years after their debut album. The second work is called "Crimson Messiah" and was mixed and mastered by Jost Schlueter in the PureSonic Studio.
It was produced by Schlueter and the band themselves. Once again we can look forward to heavy metal with a US-American touch with thrashy parts and hard rock elements. With a playing time of almost an hour, the album offers space for epic, melancholy and aggressiveness.
"Metal II" stands out as a fully re-recorded, newly mixed by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, AEROSMITH and many more) and remastered album in a new lineup, featuring Dave Lombardo (SLAYER) on drums and Stu Block (ICED EARTH) on vocals. The guest list on the album is huge: Willie Adler (LAMB OF GOD), Alexi Laiho (CHILDREN OF BODOM), Steve "Lips" Kudlow (ANVIL), Dan Beehler (EXCITER), Jesper Strömblad (IN FLAMES), Angela Gossow (ARCH ENEMY), Jeff Loomis (ARCH ENEMY, NEVERMORE), Anders Björler (THE HAUNTED, AT THE GATES) and Corey Beaulieu (TRIVIUM).
Tech death outfit Replacire is currently in the studio tracking their new studio album, which will follow up 2017's full-length, Do Not Deviate.
